Key Performance Metrics on Headway Copytrade: Active Days, Gain, Win Rate

In social trading, the evaluation of a strategy to invest is the most important part. On Headway Copytrade, you find many metrics in the strategy card to assess its performance. In this article, we explore the key metrics of a strategy: Gain, active days, and win rate.

Active days

Active days are the number of days during which the strategy owner has engaged in active trading. This parameter takes into account any day when the trader opens or closes at least one position.

You can find this metric at the top of the strategy page. Active days are a clear indicator of how active a strategy is.

The number of active days starts from 0 and doesn’t have a limit. The more active days the strategy has, the more a trader opens and closes trades regularly. It means that the performance statistics are updated often and show more reliable data for you to assess.

When you invest in a strategy with few active days, you will see the results of your investments sometime later. It would cost your time and money to test such a strategy’s performance with your investment.

When you invest in a strategy with many active days, you see the results of your investment faster. You don’t have to wait months to see its financial results. With an active strategy owner, you have active trades and understand their profitability immediately.

Gain

Gain is the ratio of gross profit to investments. In simpler terms, it reflects how much a trader has increased their trading capital.

On the Investor Board, Gain is the big (green or red) number in the middle of a strategy card. When you open a strategy page, you find it at the top of the page or above the performance charts.

You may check the dynamics of the Gain change by switching the time frames on the right (1W, 1M, 3M, etc.) When a timeframe changes, you will see how the strategy performed over time – it is a valuable factor for your choice as well.

Gain is an important metric because it shows how much profit the strategy owner makes for themselves. The bigger the number, the more profit the trader made, and it is a good sign that you can invest in them.

If the Gain number is low or negative, you should avoid such strategies and wait until they boost their performance. Otherwise, you risk losing your investment.

Win rate

The win rate is the ratio of successful trades to the total number of trades made on a strategy account. This is one of the parameters that helps you assess the overall performance of a strategy.

On the Investor Board, the win rate is shown on a strategy card above the green/red line. When you open a strategy page, you find it at the top of the page or above the performance charts.

Just like Gain, the win rate may also change according to the chosen timeframe. Remember to switch the time frames above the charts to view historical data.

The general advice is to aim at strategies with a higher win rate and avoid strategies with lower ones. Statistically, strategies with high win rates will be predictably more profitable and generate more money for their investors.
