What is a percentage-based commission?
Before, strategy owners could only have a fixed commission. However, we wanted to add variety to your copytrading experience, so that’s why we decided to add a new commission structure.
A percentage-based commission ensures that a strategy owner’s income is directly proportionate to his investors’ profits. The more his investors earn – the more money he will receive!
Let’s look into what this new feature will mean for everyone involved.
Benefits for traders
- Strategy owners can determine their commission rate anywhere between 1% and 99% of the profits earned by their followers
- When adding a strategy, traders can include both percentage-based and fixed commissions, and investors will choose between the two options.
- The commission is calculated daily based on an investor’s equity, which includes the total profit from all trades (both open and closed). This means strategy owners will now receive payments daily — no more waiting until the start of the month!
Benefits for investors
- The commission is deducted daily based on an investor’s equity – the total profit from all trades, including open and closed trades.
- If the strategy and its investors make no profit, the commission will not be charged.
- If a strategy owner sets both percentage-based and fixed commissions, investors can choose between the two options.
The new structure ensures that investors pay in proportion to their earnings. If the strategy doesn’t generate profits, no commission will be charged. This allows investors to only pay for successful strategies.
